I am a husband, father, son and brother. I am a discriminating sports fan and universal dog lover. I am a veteran as well as a military brat. I love books by Hemingway, movies by Spielberg, music by Buffett, Irish whiskey, medium rare steak, sunsets and chocolate.

I have insatiable curiosity and I am a lifelong learner. I am bilingual and have taken classes in everything from national security affairs to life coaching to ballroom dancing. I volunteer my time to help veterans.

I am a fan of the Washington Nationals, the Villanova Wildcats, and Mike Rowe.

My EDC is a Springfield Hellcat.

There are many things that I am proud of: I earned two degrees, served my country for 32 years, commanded two warships, ran a marathon and received the key to the city in which I grew up. But my greatest pride is my family, especially my daughter.

There are a few things that I am not proud of. But, then again, too few to mention.
