My name is Tony Miller and I am a engineer for a Think Tank that works directly with all of the branches of our military. We deal with the Space Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. We also do some work with the FBI , Department of Defense etc. This is the best job in the world. I get to come in and develop next generation products for the military. I am also a Father, and Husband which is the most important part of my life. I want to be able to protect them if anything bad where to happen. With the state of everything I want to be prepared if anything were to happen. Last year my wife was at the kitchen drinking a cup of coffee when a strange man came to our sliding glass door and started trying to break-in. Thankfully we had a large Male Great Dane that weighed almost 200 pound’s. My wife called our Great Dane named Duke and he jumped up at the sliding glass doors where he was face to face with the criminal and started snarling. Duke was well over 6 foot when he stands on his hind legs. The criminal turned white and ran away. Anyway Duke was 10 years old at the time and if you know anything about Great Danes this is very old for this breed. We lost Duke to old age a month later. We are now looking for a new Great Dane puppy but it will take time to train him like Duke.
I also have a couple firearm’s for protection and we work on self defense tactics with the family once a week just in case another home invasion were to happen. If Duke wouldn’t have been there that day when that man tried to come in my back door there is no telling what would have happened to my wife and daughter. Anyway the firearm is just one tool we have to keep us safe. I have been a member here for over six months and finally decided to write this. I have been training in different self defense tactics for over a year. I go to the range every week and take martial arts on the weekends. I also belong to a few groups like here and the Warrior Poets Society. I think all of this is important. I have also trying to spend more time here getting to know everyone and taking advantage of the training.
