What are good defensive ammo options in .38SPL?

Get the Ruger LCR in 357 even if your just looking for a 38 Special
The 357 has a little more weight because of the stainless frame than the 38
13.5 for the 38 vs 17.1 for the 357.

I have what I need and they come with real responsibility to keep them safe and not lose any I have miss placed one and it ruins my entire day I have more than enough I was invested in them and thank God I bought gold because you can not just sell a tool and not have to worry about what if . They don’t act right and then we are in trouble not worth the risk. So I have gold and silver and diamonds . THANK GOOD BECAUSE THEY GOLD IS GOING SO HIGH THAT we are going to have to go to a museum to see it ever again very very soon I have mine and when you have gold and nice clothes and western wear and a great hat like our cowboy with his white hat that hat is his hat and my boots are kool I love to look good and everyone says that is a nice costume haw haw just my self. Me too that’s a great tool 38. And you can hit the target the law enforcement have used 38, specials for as long as I have been alive or 45 44 38 is a fine tool and has plenty of stoping power a 9, millimeter has nothing on the 38 special . More rounds. Get it done right the first time thanks ENZO-T sir. I even used 38,special rounds in my 3.57 magnums . Less recoil sir THANK YOU SIR BOBBY JEAN SIR :toolbox::feather::feather::us::100::hammer_and_pick:

There is one reason I have recommended, (only twice that I can remember), a 38 special snub revolver to a new shooter, but it was not because of recoil.

This new shooter’s greatest fear was an accidental discharge, ( the other case was a man who had zero handgun skills but who already owned an auto and a snub revolver), so after showing them several options I lastly let them work a 38. spl. snub. and asked if they thought they could “accidentally” fire it. Their comfort level with that particular concern was greatly increased by the long heavy DA trigger pull required. They could also see, as an added benefit to the “trainer”, that to master multiple shots would demand training, it seemed like a win / win with those two particular new shooters, where “safety first” seemed best served by the snub revolver.

IDK. I used to have a .38 spl. Although I personally prefer copper EDC ammo, I cannot always find the other qualities I need, so I ended up choosing Hornady 90gr FTX Critical Defense Lite. I used to have a U.S. built Colt Night Cobra, but I was not as accurate with it as with my pistol, so I regrettably sold it. Now I got too much .38 ammo; I need to sell or barter with. Think I finally settled on my new EDC calibers.
