I particularly liked the response “You can not legislate away evil” This is further evidence by the Biblical Scriptures and historical record of Israel that shows evil comes from the heart not the firearm (Jeremiah 17-9), if anything the firearm is used for self defense (Nehimiah 4), but can not be used for nefarious reasons (Luke 22 : 49 - 51 ; Exodus 20 : 13) - someone still needs to pull the trigger. Luke was showing Peter his mistaken use of the sword because Jesus had to die on the cross for the sins (disobeying God) of everyone - Jews and Gentiles throughout all generations. The Hebrew word for ‘kill’ in the Ten Commandments has the meaning of murder. Hope this helps.
