This video was posted a year ago. Maybe you have seen it or maybe not. Just goes to show how these switches can be ordered easily and your Glock can be converted to full auto.

Even if it was legal I wouldn’t have any interest in converting a semi auto pistol to full auto. It just seems like a good way to far too quickly and inaccurately empty the magazine.

With ammo prices still as high as they are it would also be very expensive.

EXACTLY! For the cost of ammo that I would put through it I could by a Les Baer

I have (legally) fired a Glock 18 in full auto. I can confirm…it’s not practical.

Perfect device for bangers doing a drive-by, or just to maintain street status. Pairs well with extended mag and some weed.

Liberal solution: make Glock pistols illegal, better yet, make illegal all pistol ownership.

But is it really? I can see maybe from an intimidation factor I guess. But it seems most gangbangers would have an incredibly hard time controlling the recoil and actually hitting any more targets than they could with a more controllable semi auto.

I think there is a reason much of the military switched from full auto rifles to burst only options. Even with the larger and much easier to control rifles it was hard to make accurate hits and not waist ammo on full auto.

Which is why my first thought was, without the “Glock switch”, the officer would likely still be dead. I fully doubt it was the firing of a full mag in a couple of seconds was the cause of death, nor made it easier to do so. I suspect most of us can fire 5 or more rounds per second and still be able to hit the target. That is certainly fast enough, and would not waste ammo, if the need to fire that way presented itself.

A full-auto rifle is a good suppressive weapon in combat, but is irrelevant or worse in a CBQ self-defense situation where hitting the target is integral. But the ATF and others rage on about the criminals manufacturing and using these devices while prohibiting law-abiding citizens access to similar items. They seem to not get that the law prohibiting these items hasn’t prevented them from being obtained, but let’s pass more laws that impact law-abiding citizens. 🫤

Wish I could say I was that good after one year of ownership. On paper, yes, but in real life, well, hope I never have to find out.

Most of us have decades of ownership, but we are still mere pups… 🕶 Yes, through practice you will definitely get better. There will be a time that you will be surprised at how little you knew and how inexperienced you really were and be surprised that others do not have your skill and knowledge. It will be then that you will want to share your knowledge and skill. Until we die, we are always learning and improving, whether or not you are still breathing. If that stops, you are dead, but just do not know it.

Five shots and five hits in 1 second isn’t all that difficult…depending on the distance to the target and the size of the target.

If you take the close end of the typical, say, 3-5 yards, and you count “torso of an average adult” as a hit, and you start counting at the first shot (discussing semi vs full auto would not seem to care about draw and presentation times), with the first shot at time 0.00, you would only need 0.25 second splits to make an even 5 shots in 1 second of firing. That’s not all that fast, really…for a torso/A zone size target at 3 yards. Probably a lot of us could rip 3-5 yard A zones off in 0.15-0.20 splits

Now, if you want to hit a B8 (5.5" _circle_) at 10 yards…different story

Honestly, full auto doesn’t even sound fun to me except maybe in .22LR, but even that ain’t cheap anymore.

I can’t think of a civilian tactical purpose for it. However, it should be legal for those who have a different take on it.

Burst fire seems a lot more practical.

I have (limited) fired several full autos…kriss vector, MP5, Glock 18, M249, the Thompson, some Beretta 9mm sub gun, etc in various full auto and burst modes or trying to use the full auto as a burst.

My (limited usage) verdict is that if the unconstitutional NFA were not a thing, I would leave my pistols semi auto for the most part but would want most of my rifles to have a select fire capable of a 3 round burst third position.
