I just had flashbacks of trying to put a box of cat litter into a shopping cart.

At least it wasn’t a ‘Load a Safe—FAIL!’
It may not have been pretty but
the little sparing with the Safe after
means he didn’t hurt himself

Karacal joked about the (45 ib.) Litter buckets
Sometimes I nearly destroy myself with the (200lbs.)
of Sandbags to keep my Sisters Outdoor Canopy from sailing into the next city!
(50 lbs) each corner
Not much ‘Gription’ on those bags!

That’s me and my 50 pounds bags of horse and chicken feed. I like to haul them around myself to maintain some shred of muscle, but the guys at the feed store always look at me like "Should you really be doing that?"

No, but I am to show myself I am still alive!

I’m with you guys. I spent four weeks totally useless about a month and a half ago. I order cat supplies from Chewey. They ship the 40 lb litter with about 10 lbs of food in the same box. Maybe 6 months ago I had an issue that caused me to pass out. In the process of twisting and falling, I tore a muscle really badly- huge bruise and indescribable pain in my lower left back. Well, the Chrwry box was too much, and it re-tire when I picked it up.

Back problems are no fun. I have a herniated L5-S1 from years ago I still have to be careful of at all times, like a lot of people’s backs, it’s one wrong move or awkward night’s sleep from having me walk with a limp for awhile as it recovers. Generally fine and doesn’t limit me, but
lift that heavy thing the wrong way or jump and land wrong once or something and watch out

After my last back-2-back MRI’s and 6 X-rays my C-3 through 7 and S1L5 I was told no climbing, running, jogging or lifting over 20lbs.
Each day is just too exciting for me.

PEOPLE! PEOPLE! We get ‘Chewey’ deliveries also
I ‘suggested’ (she has access to my War room’ ya understand)
that she slice the box open in our foyer and truck it inside piecemeal.
We started getting Costco same way. (2) Huge cans of Coffee, Cases of Italian water
etc in one box (50-60Lbs.) She was grunting and pushing those boxes over the threshold STOP! Some of us are getting old!, Having a heart attack or blowing out
our backs right before D-Day is insane  or @ least get some help to move a Safe or furniture.
Work smarter, not harder.
So ends da sermon for da day!

Yeah, I was stupid! Normally I do open the box at the front door. I forgot that I’m not as strong as I used to be and thought, “ahh, what the heck, I can carry this in the laundry room and open it there.” Dumb.

My smart wife brought in water softener salt while I was hurt. She just went in the garage, got the hand truck, and wheeled it into the garage that way. Genius! Now I do the same. Apparently I’m kind of slow when it comes to making things easier on myself

Funny you mentioned that, my grandson just picked up his wedding gift from me his granddad.
Couple of guys, couple of beers, couple of guns, a good time was had by all!
They just ushered in my new great grand baby and a gun safe was not the first thing on his mind or budget!

Save the next generation, buy a loved one a safe!
In this case size doesn’t matter!

Wouldn’t want to wrestle a 300# monster like him. Whew!
How would a Chiropractor even put his back into place?
I use rope, ramps, and pulleys for moving big stuff like that.

I need to get another safe, reason shown why i haven’t done it yet.

My back is sketchy and, of course, my wife said she would help. Shes only had 7 back surgeries and titanium in all 3 sections of her back but shes willing to give it a go.

Dont think so, ill pay for delivery

Way back when, before I retired, we had a variety of military small arms modified for simulated training. They were all originally tactical, fully functional M4, M16, M240, M249, M2, MK19, etc., We had them converted to shoot laser and they were configured to have recoil via pneumatic action. I.e., it would probably be easier to build one from scratch than to get one of these functional again.

Regardless, the government required us to treat them as fully functional weapons. Some of our simulated training was mobile. We did not have rear doors on our custom-built semi-trailers, so our guys had to load GSA Class 5 weapon safes thru a personnel door, and then move them sometimes close to 40 feet inside the semi-trailer thru more personnel doors and thresholds. There were typically 4 to 5 safes per trailer.

Several safes would be configured like this:

We had to design and build our own holding fixtures for the M2, MK19, etc.

I guess my point is, the video reminded me of us wrestling with them

When you’re younger, you can do this kind of stuff. A few years ago, I was trying to load a big refrigerator the same way. It caused a torn retina in my left eye, and I’ll never have great eyesight out of it. Get help with things like this, no shame in it.
