I have a question??
If I go to a business for shopping or a place to eat and they have a “No Gun” sign on business and I do decide to apease with their business.
Then something happens in that business like an active shooting and I lose a love one or get injured.
Can I sue the business for my injuries or wrongful death on a love one.??
Do they take on that responsibility due to the gun free zone they created???

I’m not a Lawyer but I would say yes, but you would need a real good Lawyer and deep pockets. If I were in that position I would not only sue for wrongful death but I would include for depriving of my constitutional rights.
Luckily, Gun Free Zone signs by businesses have no weight of law in my state.
Even as anti gun as Colorado has become, it’s the same here!
The no guns signs carry no weight of law other than government buildings or public schools.

In Illinois you will have to find out who are you gonna sue.
Due to “Illinois Concealed Carry Act” when an establishment derives more than 50% of its gross receipts from alcohol sales, it falls under regulations that require posting “NO FIREARMS” signs and it’s not that business’s fault that you couldn’t defend yourself on their premises.
Good luck suing the State then… 
IDK. Interesting question; I’d bet Attny Tom G. from the USCCA can do a good story on it. Some states or counties have more law suits than others. Remembering this past summer’s highway construction season, I remember some temporary roads were very narrow, others had not so good signage. No warning, no cones, nothing but about 100 yards of runout to a solid concrete barrier!

@Johnny_F That’s a good question, and furthermore these GFZ places probably have some type of insurance for this type of an incident if it happens. But with a good lawyer you could reach for a settlement or put the establishment out of business.

And not to beat anybody over the head with REALITY—Businesses these days are generally operating on a shoe string budget–one of the first causalities is adequate Insurance. A neighbor of mine (don’t like him) had a Used car Biz-He sold a Lemon to someone and the Brakes failed , she ate the rear of a Tractor Trailer—the surviving family sued and he lost EVERYTHING (even his house which they are now living in), These poor people erected a SHRINE in their front yard (formerly HIS front yard) a gawdy bloody Jesus STATUE looks like a sick Halloween skeleton. Last night (well this morning I got home from a drive to Amarilla and that Statue and the front of the house was Vandalized/set on fire. If these folk’s just bought from a reputable Car Dealer (is there such a thing anymore?), IF this guy didn’t skimp on Maintenance before he sold a ‘Rent-A-Wreck’…If If If… so I see a GFZ sign I will keep walking.
