Words Matter - Did it "Go Off"

https://6park.news/minnesota/minnesota-hunter-has-leg-amputated-after-rifle-went-off-unexpectedly.html

The Minnesota hunter whose rifle went off while climbing a deer stall had his injured leg amputated.

In todays media we see words used to explain an event while shaping opinion. This could have very easily, and probably more accurately said “Hunter injured while climbing with loaded firearm”. I certainly feel bad for the guy but I think we can all agree, Unload You Damn Gun before you climb a deer stand.

Its basic gun safety that does not represent intelligent gun owners. Of course the media paints it in the ‘guns kill everything’ light to further personal agendas instead of simply reporting news.

Guess it proves guns don’t kill however they do injure & maim. Perhaps some new tree climbing rules are needed. One more question, why was the nephew taken to the hospital… I know … I just can’t help it.

No, we do not need any more DNR rules.
