There are far too many Americans that won’t embrace the tremendous gift that was given them in the Constitution. I wouldn’t expect Canadians, who have lived all this time used to having their rights restricted, would understand the value of the Bill of Rights.
I think we’d see the left gain a whole bunch more power, and the 2A would be seriously at risk. Toronto and surrounding metro tend to be pretty liberal, at least when I lived in WNY. Montreal is not much different than Europe in mentality, and together, that’s a full quarter of Canada’s population.
How do you think Trudeau got his job? Liberals have power there.
Edit to add, I see it as not much different than the California libs that move to Colorado and turn it blue, except the Canadians wouldn’t even have to move.

I was just there a couple of months ago and I believe you’re right. Much like in the US, rural areas are conservative (realists) and big cities like Toronto and Montreal are liberal (dreamers). Alberta is populated with ranchers and cowboys, sparsely populated and overwhelmingly conservative. The entire province would probably vote for annexation. The eastern provinces are drunk on the kool aid dished out by the DEI LGBQ-Whatever crowd, has terminal TDS and would run to China crying and begging to be protected from the big bad yankees. Paradoxically, well over 95% of this eastern population lives within 100 miles of the US border and owe their standard of living to the US, You can’t fix liberals just like you can’t fix stupid.
Bottom line: it makes for great headlines but it’s never going to happen. When Trump pulls the plug on their welfare checks, the country will retrograde, the smart folks will cross the border and the idiots left behind will freeze in the dark, clutching their DEI marching orders.

Western Canada is pretty much owned by the Chinese already anyway. As is the Western USA. And with China moving in with Mexico and those two lovebirds getting cozy and moving against us…
I think I understand Trump’s concern on Greenland and China. If we control that land, we can stop China?

40 million is still the number that matters.
As you surely know, the relative representation in the House as well as the relative number of electoral college votes for President are based upon the population of the state…they are not based on the number of voters. Not to mention 2 senators per new state (not that this is happening)
And as California shows us clearly, the fact that there are many people who vote different from the majority doesn’t change the above as long as they continue to not be the majority.
Adding 40 million people worth of House and Electoral College votes, who overall are going to vote the way Canadians would vote…would not be beneficial to ‘us’ here on this forum who like our and our fellow citizen’s RKBA to be as uninfringed as possible.

I ‘heard’ one of the reasons Trump wants Greenland is because people there have been known to THINK! as opposed to Canucks who know how to be SHEEP!.
MOO! is we don’t need another bunch of people who come into this country who hold out their arms for Vax’s when told, Who Give up their Firearms (when told), and who believed that Pedo Trudeau was the greatest ‘Governor’ since sliced bread was created.
While a lot of Canadians are nice and peaceful folk’s (it seems) they are too much follower’s rather than free thinkers like ME! (sarc)

Not really, back then:
- America already occupied Greenland.
- Denmark was strapped for cash.
- You could buy it for a much smaller price.
- Denmark didn’t know its true value.
- America wasn’t in crippling debt.
So yeah, chances were a lot better back then.

Greenland has warmed up to Trump and this idea.
China is also interested in Greenland.
Russia, too, is interested.
I can see the Greenlanders being eager to make the deal with America, with people more like themselves.
But, then again, making deals with Americans is not always a good idea!
Being America’s enemy? Chances are good your country could survive and thrive, e.g., Russia, China.
But being America’s friend almost always means certain death.
But, again, Trump is different. He is not about these abusive policies.
Wherever you see Russia or China go to a foreign country or continent, say, Africa, for example, the Africans will get some roads built, a school, a hospital, maybe all of the above.
When America goes there – they get a lecture, ghosted and then bombed.
But I don’t see Trump behaving like this. He will do Greenland a good turn and deliver, so it seems.
Americans fail to realize the rest of the world is now walking away from USA, turning themselves into BRICS nations, etc., and that they don’t run the show anymore. They must learn to compete again, instead of throwing their weight around and murdering people to get their way.
Americans absolutely must get with the rest of the world and start learning to work toward the mutual benefit of all.
I think the Greenlanders see this in Trump.
We’ll see.

Methinks this is another Trump brainchild: Trump knows our power wanes throughout the world and there’s not much he can do about it anymore. So, build closer to home instead, retake Panama, rename Gulf of America, get Greenland, get Canada, leave Taiwan to China, come on home, rebuild our home – and breed and thrive!
