@Sandy2 Please forgive me if that came across poorly, my intent was to get the word to you right away before you bought a bunch or, loaded them, in case you didn’t know.
I have seen people use bullets with a cannelure in automatics, provided the C.O.L. allowed them to use a taper crimp on a portion of the bullet away from the cannelure sufficient to prevent interaction with it. It’s just something I never felt like “risking”. With my luck, my pistol would require me to seat the bullet with the cannelure exactly where i didn’t want it.
