Hey guys, I hope all is well with every one of you and your families. While I do not know about what pushes your hot buttons, I do know, that for the most part, we share a devotion to the 2d Amendment to the US Constitution; we share a love and regard for firearms, etc.; this I firmly believe. However, I feel that our focus has been too narrow, in fact, just all the way off track now. I say this because, I have come to realize that we in America (please excuse my vernacular) don’t make sht, and increasingly don’t own sht. Yet we do too much wolfing about sh*t that is now secondary and tertiary. The America that we claim to love is being sold under our feet. Take a look at this chilling listing, that nobody is talking about, and then provide your feedback. Take a look at who owns what. You can’t shake your head at this in dismissal; this has very, very serious implications. If you think I’m trying to blow some dog whistle or trumpet then hell, toot, toot!
Yet everyone screams “buy American, buy American”.
You can’t buy American. It’s obvious, we’re never going to buy it back!
If we had a soul, we could take it back!
Money flows to where the returns are greatest.
Foreign firms own US companies because the opportunities for profit are greater than investing in their nations’ economies. That’s why Chinese firms own big shares in GM and GE – they are better than investing money in the Chinese economy where it is at risk of expropriation by the Chinese government.
US firms and US investors do exactly the same thing – invest where they believe the returns are greatest, which means some ownership interests in foreign firms. If you have any mutual funds or retirement investments, it’s likely that a portion of your own portfolio is in foreign firms.
Years ago, someone did a study to find the car that had the most American-made parts and labor in its construction - the winner was the Ford LTD - at 94%. FYI
With the exception of China I doubt that very many of these are held by foreign Governments.
Owning corporations is ONE aspect - but owning LAND is the REAL threat to us in the long run - especially land that contains natural resources and is capable of food-production. The more of OUR land that this corrupt government seizes, leases or sells to foreigners WEAKENS us in the long run. At least four times, India and Pakistan have almost gone to war - and these are NUCLEAR powers - over India’s encroachment and attempted seizure of eastern Pakistan’s rich fresh-water resources.
What do they call it when a Government takes control of land or an industry “Nationalize” or something like that. What I’m saying is, once we get the current administrations ideology out of office we can start taking our stuff back, by hook or by crook so to speak.
What is even more disturbing is the mullahs in Pakistan are on record as saying:
Since we have nuclear weapons, why aren’t we using them.
I serendipitously happened upon this article or listing, and just kinda stared at it, and it took me a moment to wrap my head around its profound implications. We’ve been majoring in the minors while others see it and just walk right by us and place their order…“I’ll have that company over there, and how much for that one over there, and I’ll buy three of those for X price and while they are arguing over sht that really don’t matter, I’ll take five of those companies right here; oh, and by the way, since they won’t support their own; I’ll just buy the whole lot over here, and then I’ll sell it back to you at a premium, or I will hire you to maintain what used to belong to you.”
Our ethics are in the toilet, and the thing that we value proves to be the dollar which is elusive and transient at best. We sell out for a dollar, like trading our birth right for a bowl of porridge. It used to be that families could pass down land and businesses and wealth sustaining operations, but the heirs don’t want to work; they want the high life; they want the jet-set; they want the glitz and glamour, and they will sell everything that have it now or to get a taste of it; it’s like a drug! And just like a crack addict, we now are finding ourselves working for the dealer who now owns our stuff - and pay only enough to get our next fix or hit.
If we don’t straighten up and fly right; our constitution will change alright, but it may be under some other country’s flag.
Oh, what a scary thought… will somebody wake me from this nightmare…
Look for the history of Aramco for an example of nationalization - U.S. oil companies spent millions to develop Arabian oil - only to have their governments seize the assets we built. Look at the fiascos regarding the Panama Canal, too - we should have NEVER given up control of it!
A friend of mine used to say:
Some time in the future there will be only two companies. One named We have Everything and the other named We have Everything Else.
ben n jerry, have always been communist so it’s no surprise their communist overlords took them over completely. I was glad to see, after ben n jerry’s rant about Mount Rushmore on July 4th, that the Indigenous Tribes in Vermont want ben n jerry to give them their land back.
