I think I would amend the “I’ll cooperate fully” since anything you say can and will be used against you. I lean more towards: I’m too emotionally upset right now and need to talk to my lawyer”. Your lawyer might tell you to not say a word period but you said you would cooperate fully.
I’m not sure saying you are “too emotionally upset” is necessarily better when talking about anything you say being used against you
Well, being involved in a shooting or taking the life is a very emotional situation. Better yet, let’s come up with an improved first sentence for the members to use!
