It’s not just bias we need think about, but flat out propaganda and complete bullsh#t, i. e., lies from the corporate, government sponsored American media.
Anymore I only listen to independent sources who are looking for and spewing their own facts and opinions as they find them.
So what happens with the independent sources is they can cover only one or two topics at a time because they aren’t funded, need to find their own funds and can be in only one place at a time. So I end up looking for multiple reporters to cover multiple topics. This business of one or two stops for all your news anymore is over – unless of course you enjoy spoonfuls of corporate controlled lies fed to you minute by minute.
A short list of independent sources I listen to are: Douglas McGregor; Judge Napolitano; Eva K. Bartlett; Patrick Lancaster; Kim Iversen.
There are many more, but these are some of my favs.
Shock and Awe is a real thing. We just stop too soon for the desired effect.
War needs to HURT to be effective. We now only do surgical so most of the population of the offending country just feel enough sting to keep getting angrier and when we have them at their most pissed off, we try to pacify and rebuild an unwilling and unafraid population causing even more US casualties.
Japan was the last time we actually won a war. Vaporized a few hundred thousand with two nuclear devices and the whole country said, HEY! We should just be friends! Generations later they still remember and will tell you being an enemy to the USA is a bad thing. There are NO Japanese terrorists waiting to strike at us…
Dresden was the German Hiroshima. Over 3,900 tons of high-explosive bombs and incendiary devices were dropped destroying 1,600 acres of the city center and over 50 Manufacturing facilities aiding the German War effort. More than 1,600 acres of the city center destroyed, up to 25,000 people were killed even though some estimates put the figure at a much higher number.
We have a long and spotted history of the political elite jerking the chain short on our dogs of war just short of finishing engagements calling them mission accomplished shy of having gotten there.
They don’t seem to what to let the military call that game over, for whatever reason or motivation time after time.
It sucks to be military at times like these and realize that we just got the rug pulled out from under us.
As Sly’s character in Tulsa King said: revenge needs to be so severe that the one you perpetrated it against won’t seek revenge in turn. Or something close to that.
