I am Lutheran!! Born and raised and confirmed! I don’t follow like I used to but definitely Christian!
I believe we will see our loved ones again. I have found another church I like to go to, and it’s different than what I’m used to, but they have a better service. And it’s more open and friendly.

Reading, then understanding in context is important.
Using a word for word translation Bible (NASB) is very important.
Researching the original Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek would be a tremendous help. (pastors should be able to assist).

Agreed. The point I was making was that the complaints most often leveled at Christianity are absolutely backwards from the truth of what Christianity actually teaches, and what is believed by mature Christians.

God made mention of that in his word too, people who would refuse to hear sound teaching, and teachers who would give them what their itching ears wanted to hear. I would say we are in times such as those. You can find a church these days that will pretty much affirm for you, anything you want to see affirmed. I think that is one reason God instructs each Christian, on their own as well as in a church, to examine the word of God for themselves and see if those things are true.
I suppose you would have to be careful, though, to get a bible that is a true translation, and not an “interpretation” or a “re-imagining”. I have caught churches handing out such bibles!

I now use the NASB, and listen to sermons from John MacArthur, Voddie Baucham, R.C. Sproul and others. Great teachers!

McArthur and Voodie are great apologetics teachers great sermons preached, look up Kenny Baldwin give him a listen.
I don’t hold a candle to them gentlemen, but Ive been known to teach and preach from time to time.
