Detroit is really like any major city. There are dangerous parts, usually more off the beaten path old residential areas, then there is downtown. Downtown has awesome arenas, concert venues, restaurants, clubs… great night life.

I’ve been to Detroit and surrounding area 100s of times. A few of my favorite concerts were at Pine Knob. While not the same city it was in the 1900s, I agree it’s not as bad as some believe it to be.
