Weekend Training: Turn and Shoot Drill

An attacker won’t necessarily come at you from the front. This drill will help you develop your turning to address a threat before you shoot.

How do you train to react when the attacker is coming from your side?

And if there are multiple targets, make sure you make direct (focused) eye contact with the next target and then move your weapon on site to the target while bringing in the trigger slack. Do not take your eye off the target or “follow” your front site to the target. With muscle memory your gun should react to what you see and be very closely lined up for that inevitable front site focused shot. Don’t let the “tail wag the dog”. Or so I was trained at least.

I agree, with consistent practice your reaction will let your hands follow you eyes.
