The more important question may prove to be where did these BILLIONS come from? Of course, the big brains in DC printed the money, which is paid for by ordinary Americans as inflation arising from the devaluation of currency.
Those of us of a certain vintage can recount horror stories from the Great Inflation of the 1970s & 80s caused by printing money to finance Johnson’s Great Society and Johnson/Nixon’s war in Vietnam. Bringing it in check required 20%+ interest rates and a decimated stock market (say “bye-bye savings”).
