Was watching a TV show and Ft Worth stopped a couple for drugs. They were clean and said they had tried to buy MJ but were unsuccessful. Both are legal age and the patrolmen called their parents and said the couple were trying to buy drugs. Was this an invasion of privacy of the couple and possibly violated their rights as adults?
Good question. Unless they filed charges I don’t think we will ever know. What happened to them after that?
Sounds like a sting.
They were trying to buy from an undercover cop who gathered enough evidence to warrant a search.
This kind of $#!+ happen all the time as we edge closer to totalitarian police state.
They were dumb kids trying to buy weed, not cartel members smuggling guns.
But hey, it’s a “win” for the left!
Well I’m Nowhere close to being on the left and live in the DFW area and have no issue with what the Police did.
But where does it stop?
We need to know how many guns you own and what kind of lingerie your wife wears!
Why?
Because you tried to buy a plant that we say you shouldn’t.

First question covered by 2A , second question could get someone hurt.
They were released since nothing was found.
They were seen at the door of a alleged know drug house which the police said is justification for a stop and search. If it is known, why is it not raided, occupants arrested and whole operation shut down?
When my sister was 16, she was dating a 41yo cocaine dealer….
He was dealing directly across from an elementary school.
I witnessed with my own eyes (12 at the time) kilos of cocaine on the counter in the bathroom.
We (my mother and I) called the cops,…
They knew who he was, they knew he was slinging coke, they knew he was F’ing kids…. they wouldn’t touch him.
They claimed they were trying to get the ones above him, that he was too small of fish to fry.
So the answer is yes their rights were violated since per your story it wasn’t a sting.
