What are your thoughts and experiences using a line drill?
I have used it. Diagnosing your grip then your finger pull to see what you might be doing wrong can help.
I like to take about 10 to 15 rounds for a warmup on a line drill (horizontal and vertical) just to help make sure I’m not doing something stupid with my grip or trigger before i waste 50 or 100 rounds.
I start like that then lose patience and discipline.
By the time I get back to my senses, I’ve already wasted a box of ammo.
Do some dry fire practice, pay close attention to what your sights do when you press the trigger. Oh, and be sure to use a small target when you do it. That way it shows up more. You can even talk to yourself saying press, press, press while pressing the trigger and just let it click (fire). Or even count it down.
Using the line drill can really help you figure out what’s happening with your shots
I’ve never heard so much crap in my life lol. Me thinks you need a flux capacitor. If someone has to go through all that crap you should carry one of those little shot guns
Unless it’s a hobby and all that stuff is fun to you and as a hobby I honestly do understand that because it is fun and all but if you’re talking about real life situations you’re just wasting your time, but as I said if you got a good place to shoot and not at some range where there’s a bunch of people and get some plywood and 2 x 4s and make some holes and stuff in it and build scenarios it can be a great way to spend a day shooting. But I don’t think it has much to do with real life because at real life distances it’s not gonna matter because if you can’t hit a human at twenty feet or so better give it up all together. IMHO
Can anyone tell me how to find that last thread I started? I’ve been looking all day.
What is a “line drill”?
Can you just do an advanced search?
Gary_h a line drill is simply just a line be it horizontal or vertical. Start at 3 yards away. The horizontal line, you aim at the line (keeping the height over bore in mind you might need to adjust a little for that) see where your impact is. If you are below the line, you might be anticipating the recoil. Watch your sights when you press the trigger, see if they drop below the line. You’re looking for consistency but missing the line it might be in your sight alignment. It just really good way to tell what’s going on with your shot. You know MOA works in all directions windage and elevation. That being said, the more you know about your shot up close with a fine line target (small target0 the more accurate you can be at greater distances.

I’ll try
Thanks for the tips guys. Anyhoo to me that line drill sounds good for everything but self defense because in the heat of the moment everything you tweaked will all be forgotten about
That’s why you practice and build muscle memory so that it becomes second nature
Another way is click on the three bars beside your avatar. Then select “My Posts” from the dropdown
I knew that.

But why? How big a shoot out do you think you’ll get into out here? It’s fun to shoot up n down n G-Dog style ( gun sideways) and bent over tween your legs yea I get that but people need to stop dreaming about this big magazine dropping and slamming one up and all that because all your gonna do is end up in jail for a long time and ain’t no lawyer gonna get you out. It’s supposed to “ look like “ you were or are just some guy minding his own binnus and some tweeker is needing another hit and you gobble around in your pocket and shoot the waste of human sperm but not look and act like some ex Navy SEAL or something because you will frowned upon. Just some food for thought take it or leave it. Bros, not trying to pop anyones bubble
Hey! I kinda like this guy! ^
