Or sell to somebody else.
Tariffs are taxes that the American pays on a foreign good. It increases prices for Americans and not the foreigner. The foreign compnay does not have to sell the the American, it can selll to lots of other countries.

Was that for me? Like I said…my tolerance is going down.
AND America can buy From lots of other countries.

Like it or not liberal gun ownership is at it’s highest rate ever and becoming a driving force in the gun industry. This is a good thing, they are having to deal with the same State Government bureaucracies as the rest of us and are serious about firearm safety and firearm training. The shooting range I prefer before Trump was elected I could just show up and have a lane. Today I have to call ahead of time to see if they have an open lane and if not what the wait time looks like. Which has me ecstatic because I worried for years that they would close shop as they tried to squeeze every penny to keep the lights on.
Not if we traif the hell out of them.
I am one of them liberals at the range, with a conceled carry permit as well.
I have shooting since I have been 7, its nice that I no longer have to hide that I am on the left when going to the range.
Welcome to the family, your political affiliation is not important to me, what is important is that you are taking your 2nd Amendment right seriously and are being responsible with it through training.
Yep. Auto assembly and auto parts manufacture often happens in the US and in Canadian border towns.

Firms advocating tariffs to disadvantage rivals has a long history. You may recall US appliance makers advocating tariffs on Korean and Japanese appliance makers. They argued that tariffs were necessary since appliances are no longer made in the US. Ditto tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum makers. The political argument was “we need tariffs because US made steel and aluminum are necessary for national defense.”
Tariffs simply use the coercive power of government to raise the costs of competitive rivals. They don’t make US makers more efficient or encourage manufacture in the US. Mechanization, real estate costs and labor costs are the primary drivers of manufacturing costs which is why auto makers locate plants in Canada and Mexico (and China and Vietnam and elsewhere).
They can sell to someone else but the average US tariffs on foreign products are some of the lowest in the world, normally. It would likely still make their product price go up selling to other countries. No one has to sell to us but if they want a very large market they will and at a price we like. China may have more people but I would bet that we have the largest overall buying market in the world.
Im sorry the truth is upsetting you.
No, that was an apology to ChildofGod
Ha ha! THAT isn’t it, Jim. But keep posting.
This is why we need to secure our border from these cartels, and put the screws to the dysfunctional Mexican “government” if there actually is one. We have a total disaster of a “country” abutting the southern part of the US, and we need to call it for what it is. Companies that set up shop there looking for cheap labor (GM, et.al) need to pay the price.
This is disturbing:
Trump Press Secretary blatantly lying to American people saying that Tarriffs are a tax cut for Amercian people. And she regrets getting called out on her lie. Or she’s a compete idiot, which I guess is a possiblity.
The two options are not mutally exclusive.
She is spectacular. I think that you’re so used to lies that you can’t trust truths.
She’s educated and knows how to handle herself, unlike kjp and the other tw*twad.
What truth is there that Tariffs are tax cuts for the American People? It’s a Tax on the people who are paying the Tariff. The only truth in that video was Her big head only showing behind her.

Here’s the thing;
company A, an American company, manufactures a product for $75 per unit, and sells it for $100 making $25 profit per unit and staying in business.
Company B, a Chinese company manufactures a similar product at a per unit cost of $35. Then ships it to the United States and sells it for $85 dollars undercutting the American company while simultaneously making double the profit per unit.
The tariff can still be absorbed into that profit margin and keep the price of the product the same….
Corporate greed though will not tolerate a reduction in profits, so the end cost of the imported product goes up and is no longer undercutting the American product.
Seems like a win to me.
