Went down to AZ last weekend, my mother is in her last days. (Sad but not tragic, she’s 87 and I’m damn luck to have had my mother in my life for 65 years)
At the SL Air port as I walked along the secure end of the TSA lines I glanced over and saw the TSA Thugs counting bullets, looked like they had 10-15 maybe 223/556 stuff. The guy standing there was looking pretty put off about the whole deal. I didn’t stand around and watch, just nodded my head.
The other thing, as I boarded a plane I noticed the guy in front of me had a USCCA branded back pack, I stepped up to him and quietly said “USCCA? Me too.” he nodded and shook my hand.
Hope that you had a good trip, Mike! Sorry to hear about your mother but glad that you two had what sounds like a great relationship and that you were able to spend some time with her.
Sad, indeed, but I commend you for looking on the bright side of those 65 years.
My mom’s turning 85 in 30 days and I can relate a bit.
I’ve seen a few with gun-related attire and in keeping with my gray man appearance, I didn’t say a word.
Yea, I thought about that…
The one that I understand least is a handgun manufacturer’s sticker on your car. It’s like a giant “break into me for Epic Loot” sticker many places
IMO it depends mostly on the perp’s IQ or lack thereof,
a deterrent or an invitation
How is an empty car in a parking lot, driveway, or side of the street at 3AM a deterrent?
Mike 164 sorry about your mom but sounds like you have your head wrapped around it .But still never easy I lost my mom many years ago.
@Mike164 So sorry to hear about your mom , glad you met up with another member crossing paths.
@Mike164 sorry to hear such sad news!
Sorry to hear about your mother @Mike164
The sticker, depending on the IQ of the individual could mean either,
“Hey, he probably left his gun in his car. Jackpot!” or
“Hey, he’s most likely a gun owner. Hard target. Hard pass.”
Sorry about your mom! We’ll keep her in our prayers.
You Guys and Gals ROCK!! Thanks for the thoughts about my mom. I’m sure she’s feeling the love from all of us.
Thoughts and prayers to you and yours. Here’s to taking solace in warm and fond times for comfort.
Ah, I see.
My perspective, I don’t think they see a gun owner’s car…gun owner not present…as a hard target. It’s just a car.
Now if you’re sitting in the car, that might make it seem like a hard target.
or it might make them think they can call 911 and report that you pointed a gun at them…another thing I consider when placing stickers (or not) on a vehicle
A real concern for me in California
Like the way you think Nathan57. I also think this way, I have no stickers on my truck or home to Identify I am a gun owner. For the same reason I don’t wear USCCA or NRA clothing or caps.
i dare them to prove i pointed my gun at them, what color was it? oh and film at 10 multi views.
We’re talking of Newsom’s shytehole where gun owners are guilty until proven innocent.
I have neither the time nor patience to deal with the hassle of appearances in court. I would have a warrant for failure to appear.
