Time to put pettiness aside and join the NRA

You don’t need to send money to NRA, but still use the organization to teach others about the right to keep and bear the firearm.
NRA is still nationwide recognized organizations and being NRA Certified Instructor we can help to spread the firearm’s wisdom.

I pay annually to keep my credentials nothing more, nothing less. But this way I have pretty good options to teach others and support 2A.

And, both Support (2A) the Second Amendment, I would belong to any and all such organizations to the extent that I can afford them. Right now that is both USCCA & NRA, I don’t consider them competitors but, like minded in their purposes.

Same, I am a member of both as well.

I regret I let my membership lapsed. I had not been reading the news about all that was going on with the NRA, so I was pleasantly surprised at their transparency in the email they sent me (copy attached below). They addressed it to my name, so I omitted my name in this copy for my privacy. I respect them for what they say about their errors. I do wish they would do more outreach to other 2A supporters and small “Mom & Pop” venues.

What’s the greater community thinking in terms of trusting them more in the future?:

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO FORMER
MEMBERS OF THE NRA

Dear " ",

I’m writing you today to ask you to come home to NRA.

As you know, the past few years have tested this organization.

We’ve endured the shame of discovering and confronting the misdeeds of former NRA leaders and officials. Misdeeds that many of our loyal and courageous members rightly criticized and condemned.

But today, we’ve emerged from these challenges with new, principled leaders, a renewed commitment to our core mission, and a clear strategy to win.

And with NRA Life Member Donald Trump in the Oval Office and pro-gun majorities in Congress, you and I have an unprecedented opportunity to go on offense and protect our Second Amendment rights for decades to come.

" ", as someone who once stood with us in the fight for freedom, I want to personally invite you to come back and be part of this new era of the National Rifle Association of America.

I don’t know exactly why you let your membership lapse.

Maybe you felt like we weren’t fighting hard enough. Maybe you just figured that one less membership wouldn’t make a difference. Maybe you lost trust in the NRA.

But this is a new NRA. And we need you back in the fight.

RESTART YOUR MEMBERSHIP NOW

For decades, the radical left has worked to dismantle everything that makes this nation great. They’ve demonized gun owners, released violent criminals onto our streets, and tried to disarm law-abiding citizens while protecting the elites.

Now the tide has turned, and we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to take back our country and rebuild the foundations of freedom.

The NRA is working every day with President Trump and his administration. We’re working hand-in-hand with top leaders in Congress. Our legal team has pro-Second Amendment cases moving forward in local, state, and federal courts.

In short, we’re not just holding the line.

We’re leading the charge.

And we’re shaping the future of American freedom.

That’s why I’m urging you to come home to NRA at this critical moment in American history.

RESTART YOUR MEMBERSHIP NOW

To protect and strengthen our gun rights – and secure American liberty for generations to come – NRA needs the strength of your membership commitment.

In fact, your membership is so crucial that I’ve authorized a special one-time “Welcome Home” offer exclusively for former members like you.

If you rejoin your NRA today, you can do so for just $30 – a full 33% off the regular rate.

And when you restart your membership, it would be my honor to send you TWO special gifts to welcome you back to the NRA family.

First, I’ll send you our classic NRA Eagle hat – a hat that I hope you’ll wear WITH PRIDE in our great association.

And second, you’ll also receive a commemorative NRA gift of your choice.

You’ll get to choose from four of the most popular gifts NRA has ever offered: our Desert Storm Tactical Backpack, the Rosewood Handle Knife, Ripstop Collapsible Duffel, or our Blackout Tactical Backpack.

RESTART YOUR MEMBERSHIP NOW

But more than anything, you’ll reclaim your place in America’s strongest and most effective pro-gun organization at a time when your leadership is needed most.

" ", we’ve missed you in this fight. America needs you. The NRA is back. Please come home today, and let’s make history together.

Yours in Freedom,

Doug Hamlin
Executive Vice President & CEO
National Rifle Association

P.S. The NRA has new leadership. We have a renewed commitment to our mission. And we have a strategy to win. All we’re missing is YOU, . Please click here right now to go to our special “Welcome Home” website and help us take back our country.

I expect that spouses who enjoy the endless beatings following the hollow promises really like the NRA. No thanks.

Each Family can have black sheep… it doesn’t mean whole Family must go to hell…

I’ve been NRA Member and Instructor for over 4 years and I don’t see any reason to cancel my membership and credentials.

I’ve got the same letter and even few more from Mr. Hamlin.
I still got a hope that NRA is coming back on its original track.

Hi Brian. My issues with the NRA stem from their agenda and path forward. I don’t agree with or condone their messaging or agenda. Don’t get me wrong….I support every persons right to own as many firearms as they choose, o just don’t subscribe to the laughably naive agenda the NRA or any special interest group has. I’m a proud anti abortion, pro gay rights republican who proudly supports every person’s right to live as they choose. The NRA tends to force all their support towards the same agenda and I simply don’t agree. Just like if we discussed what our favorite vehicles might be, I’m sure you we’d disagree…I also feel we’d not agree on the NRA. Not that I don’t agree with some of their choices, only that I don’t agree with all of them. So basically, I won’t suddenly adopt everything a group dictates because we share a couple of similarities. That is exactly how I feel about the NRA.

The NRA is not just a 2A lobbying group, although to the general public that is its most prominent activity (wll, other than bottom feeding corrupt operations). The organization with museums, training support with ranges and rull training centers, and competitions.

The NRA sas founded to build firearms and marksmanship training programs. It still does that, in a broad and important way. There are the general basic and advanced course, special program for training law enforcement officers, anda broad ranging youth training program supporting many different youth activities groups.

Some consider NRA and USCCA training programs as competitive. As an instructor certified by both at basic and intermediate levels, I consider them complementary. I plan to maintain both certifications and offer courses from both as long as I am an instructor.

Even if you cannot support all NRA activities, at least consider supporting it as a training organization.

Theoretically… imagine this situation…
One day Tim Schmidt took all the money from USCCA and Delta Defence, LLC. :grimacing:

What is your next move?
Are you going to cancel your Membership and slander both Organisations? Then you start paying your membership to “US Law Shield”, “CCW Safe” or “Attorneys On Retainer”?

Sounds silly, doesn’t it?

Sorry,..never going to happen. Same reason I refuse to give to my HOA. They do virtually nothing I want them to.
