Was one in “fear”, or was one in “anger”? Made me wonder about all those many dangerous car chases by police. Showing how a perpetrator’s tire can be blown out - yet he still drives for miles on end at the speed of a cheetah. I sure wouldn’t wanna face 12 jurors in this case. I’d become incontinent on the spot. Worse, heard they are making more prison cells, re-opening an old prison, its name is Alcatraz. Remember when we were kids, that program called “Scared Straight”? Maybe we need to bring that back, but for adults. ---

A few years ago I read something about the legal intricacies of using deadly force, particularly firearms, to stop a fleeing subject who was not otherwise immediately endangering LEOs or civilians. What I seem to remember is that the only time it is completely legal was when the fleeing subject had already been adjudicated guilty by a court and remanded to custody and was then attempting to flee said custody or a detention facility. Shooting at a fleeing suspect simply to prevent them evading capture was specifically not allowed. Bear in mind that my opinion is informed by hundreds of hours of TV, movies, crime novels, and some internet articles. YMMV. ---

OK let me throw this into the mix: IF the guy hit him with his car and then tried to drive off, could hesay I was afraid for my life because he hit me with the car he’s driving off in AND I’m defending the lives of other on the street knowing he is capable and willing to run them down as well? ---

there are times when I see such and think perhaps the person committing the crime will recommit… not real sure… but think removing some individuals from the genetic pool could a be good thing… but ALSO thinkin that way opens a GIANT can of worms… so??? who decides such an issue??? way open for abuse!!! still remember a legal something about there is only so much a person can withstand before taking action argument??? courts got rid of that in the 60’s IIRC… so they can attacked you they then run and you are left with your reaction coursing through your body… the reaction to… they just tried to kill me… GRRRRRRRR kinda thing… to a degree I can understand the reaction and there are times when in sympathy I think justifiable rage??? but killing someone over such is not a good thing… is wrong IMHO… yet I think many of we the people understand the concept of such a reaction… ---

Double sadness, shop lifter gets a death sentence; The store owner said he doesn’t like violence, but was, and wore a “Scarface” movie shirt; You know how many acts of violence and number of bullets were fired in that movie? Sad day in court. ---
