I just don’t see that plan working unless Russia could plausibly blame someone else for the attack. An EMP over the US would lead to just as many if not more deaths in the first year as a full on WW3 style strike would. Think it is likely the US military would respond the same to an EMP as they would to a regular full scale nuclear strike. Just doing an EMP response against Russia would have less impact since they are more prepared and their people are a lot more used to living through hard times.
Best to keep potassium iodide handy in case. I want my students to be prepared, not scared. That said, I’m cautious about what I say to them. One shouldn’t be chicken little with the message, the sky is falling. But its good to think of how to survive an attack and to be prepared. So I’ll ask what would they do in case of an earthquake? How prepared are they? Fresh water, etc. 1 day? 3 days? 7? It makes them think.
I don’t think I’d want to survive a nuclear war tbh
You mean to tell me they lost “another” submarine, gee sounds like the “Hunt for Red October” is this a coincidence?
I’m not sure I disagree.
Even though it’s 2022, the Russian Navy does not have a good track record in nuclear power nor nuclear weapons!
If we still have good submarine sailors, finding the Belgorod shouldn’t be an impossible task. It’s 4x the size of our fast attack boats, displacement wise. It’s a big ass boat! Our fast attack subs are only as good as the people manning them! Fingers crossed!
Their boats have always been very loud!
I know, I hunted them in 70’s and 80’s!
The real problem is their ability to use “kamikaze” unmanned subs.
I’m no sonar tech, but those will be real hard to detect!
If Putins health is compromised in any way, he will do what ever it takes to dominate the globe. The real war will take place between China and Russia, as we are already out of the game.
Your not buying the whole love affair between Xi and Putin? That’s just an ingenious ploy to pull us in and be stupid!
Unfortunately, our lives are depending on a guy that sniffs little girls hair, in public, as a hobby! Brandon won’t retaliate!
I have seen a post of someone asking IF there would be a warning of a potential nuclear strike against the U.S. I thought that was a very good question that I have my own information about. I shared this:
“Alerts could be sent by any federal, state or local agency. These agencies determine whether or not public notifications will be sent. The actual time for government agencies have to respond to a nuclear attack is slim and the notification to the public would be about the sixth or seventh to be warned after Military, National Defense, Government officials, which will consist of federal, then state officials. They have to first analyze that there is a bleep then verify it is a bleep then verify what the bleep it is. Then the information starts from the top then works its way down. Hopefully, civilians will have time to be notified and time to react, but I am doubtful.”
Then they will need to have a committee look over the bleep to see if it is a domestic or international bleep. Look at its tax returns and social media profiles
Putin, healthy or not, will most likely die if Russia loses. So he doesn’t have alot to lose.
Remember the “false alert” in Hawaii, then they blamed it on Trump.
“BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER,” the alert read. “THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” It wasn’t until 38 minutes later when **emergency officials issued a corrected alert saying it was a false alarm.**Jan 13, 2018
This would be another point of possible future restraints from pushing the alarm, having a false alarm or crying wolf may restrain from making an alarm.
What kind of boat is that in the picture? Is it a Typhoon?
They would eventually determine that we civilians should not be notified for our own good.
Personally I would rather a notification not go out.
The ensuing chaos would just make our last minutes that much more difficult. We live near a couple of nice juicy targets so if it does happen, it would be better to just be vaporized as opposed to hearing it is coming first…
May or May not be notified. If notifying civilians would impede their progress to bunkers or to get out of town, for the sake of “continuation of government” I suspect we will not be notified. The very people that started this will be safe and snug in hardened facilities.
I fondly remember, when I was in grammar school, Tuesday mornings, getting under the school desk and covering your head, when the “Air Raid” sirens (as we called them) went off.
That, my friend, is the sum of all fears. The Russian K-329 Belgorod submarine a modified Oscar II class submarine designed to replace the Kursk!
What makes it so dangerous is the unmanned remotely operated underwater vehicle housed underneath! Capable of delivering nuclear warheads for the destruction of coastal infrastructure. In addition it’s armed with 6 Poseidon, horizontally launched, missiles! A masterful work of art, if only we designed it! This is Putin’s pride and joy!
Ha! As if hiding under a wooden desk was going to save us. All we can hope for is that it’s quick. I do have special plans to haunt the liberals in the afterlife!
Not to connect anymore dots but the Cuban/October missile crisis 1962! Where we reached DEFCON 2. Are we seeing a pattern yet? Unfortunately we don’t have as many friends anymore!
Thank you sir. I knew you would know what it was. Scary indeed. I wonder how quiet it is? Could our fast attack boats find it and take it out?
