While I was working down in Louisiana we drove past a line of about 50 Deseret Industries trucks just parked and waiting. I pointed them out to the guys I was with. They were staged there waiting for a hurricane to pass so they could deliver food, water purification, clothing, food…
You may not understand or even like the Mormons but they really do help a lot of people.
I have known, or do know, a few Mormon families. All of them, without exception, are very kind, gracious and certainly charitable in every way imaginable. That is my personal experience.
I don’t know much about the morman faith but I do know a few families. Good people. Mormans are excellent at being self-sufficient. I have learned a lot about long term food storage on some of their websites over the years. They have some good tips, plans and recipies.
It’s one of the great American churches, and the Mormon families and people I’ve known have been good solid people. They’re the real deal. One of my closest friends growing up was a Mormon. I missed him when he went on his mission, like young Mormons often do. He ended up moving to SLC, and I had a blast visiting him and enjoying Utah skiing. And Wasatch beer. They were brewing amazing beer long before all the craft brewers came to be. He mailed me a case once to Buffalo for my birthday, and all the bottles made it intact! Anyway, I guess I started rambling memories. Sorry.
