Tactical Tuesday: Protecting yourself from a seated position

This is a great drill for people with mobility issues who may be in a wheelchair - and for all of us as we may encounter a deadly threat while we’re seated somewhere in public.

Do you train from the seated position? What tips do you have for this type of defense?

One thing I noticed was that the arm of the chair really interfered with his draw. That was very interesting to watch as I don’t usually sit in that type of chair, so now it has brought that up as something to be aware of for training purposes.

It does highlight one thing that I am hyper-vigilant about and that is I don’t sit with my back exposed. I have 0 problem with telling a host/hostess that I can wait for a wall table where I can see the exits or asking to be moved to that sort of table.
