Sun, Fun, Water and Guns, Part 2: Carrying at the Pool | USCCA

In my last blog, we explored some of the challenges of carrying a defensive firearm to the beach. And I shared the importance of removing any saltwater or sand from your gun (and from yourself … and likely from all of your belongings). And since summertime is still enticing a lot of people to get outdoors, this week, we’re heading to the pool!

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/blog/sun-fun-water-and-guns-part-2-carrying-at-the-pool/

If you’re trying to get water or any other substance out of gun after a swim day, can you use wd-40 to get all of that gunk or water out initially? I mean before you would do your regular cleaning, oiling…etc. ?

I would say yes you can–the WD in WD 40 stands for water displacement (it was built to do just that).
