So just what do you suggest ? I stay aware of my surroundings but you can’t give yourself away either. I know just by being on here there are mall ninjas on this sight, they will never admit it but they just can’t wait to be a hero and they are very very wrong to.
They give theirselves away like a sun flare , go in a store or gas station or something, always have dark glasses on, peering around corners before taking a step and a thousand other things with the mindset “ one day I might have to stop a robbery or save a life, never know !” And freak out when someone goes for their wallet or something and “ go hot “ and wind up shooting some little kid or something.because they are wound tighter than a banjo string.

Loaded chamber indicators are a nice feature, but not a deciding factor on purchasing for me.
A few of my 'units" have an indicator and a few don’t. I treat all of them as loaded until a press check.

Yep a LCI is handy but it’s a mechanical device and you can’t bet your life on it

Funny, maybe you should use your own advice?
When you reply like that, it kind of makes you sound like a hypocrite.
Your assumptions that only somebody who carries a gun knows how to use a gun, could bite you.
The assumption that you will be able to rack that gun when you need to is also one that could bite you hard.
The assumption that you’re going to be able to pull your knife and subdue this person could also bite you hard.
But you are free to carry a piece of useless steal on your hip if you so choose.
