A report on our local news of multiple shots fired in the city. News reporter talked with a female who lived very close by. Female said " They were the loudest shots she has heard in her area, then said she ran to the window to look out and saw people running ".
My point is, I am so glad I’m doing many types of training with the courses & videos USCCA allows us to continuously go over and over to stay aware and know what to do correctly in different situations.
As for this females story, my outlook is, duck and cover till my perception is that it’s all clear and safe.
Noooo, Duck and cover and call 911.
Update added- I am always armed and doors are always locked and phones are nearby.
No need to do anything else.
You don’t know how many likes I would get if I caught it all on video.
@BRUCE26 ; You are absolutely correct.
I could see all kinds of directions for this to go (and the bullets).
A lot of the walls I’m picturing won’t stop the bullets that might be flying much differently than a window, IE, don’t assume that wall is over. Maybe if you peek at the side of the window, your awareness of the situation increases and you can make a more informed decision on what to do/where to go next?
Or maybe the wall you are by is cover and the window is not and you expose yourself by looking out the window.
Or maybe the shots didn’t come from the direction you thought (I can see directionality being difficult to tell from inside when shots are somewhere else, maybe? Depending on the setup) and it turns out the shots weren’t even from the direction of out-that-window at all and your cover is facing the wrong direction?
Which is to say, I don’t want to automatically declare that looking at the window was a bad decision without knowing more about the totality of the circumstances.
Did the person referenced in the OP have family outside to check on?
@Nathan57 ; Wow, putting a lot into a persons inquisitive actions. The female wanting to see what was happening I suspect.
As for me, my pount is stay out of sight and as safe as possible. USCCA TRAINING.
If they were that close I’d have the family on the floor while I activate the live view on my cameras to see what’s going on as I head to safe.
Hmmm…personal safety… viral vid…personal safety…VIRAL VID!!!..
Yes, the world’s gone mad.
I guess if you live in a war zone long enough, you get a little numb to pew pews.
