Since you are new I want to advise that correcting grammar is pointless and we do have a valued member who uses a speech-to-text program which is not always grammatically accurate.

“hit is” or “hit has” probably isn’t the right usage

When I was in grammar school the ice age involved dinosaurs, in the 70’s it was a global threat. When I was in grammar school gender studies were in science class it was called biology. The class was about sex of a man and a woman. Now kids need to learn about the earth burning up from global warming (used to be new ice age) from algore and some 13-year-old named greta. They also have 167 different genders they need to remember along with worrying about calling some overly sensitive “person” if I can use that term, the wrong gendering. No wonder the populous are so screwed up.
