I have yet to find a news source that I trust. They’re all just out to sell ads.
Interesting that the prime suspect, with a long criminal record, in prison for torturing his girlfriend was released less than halfway through his sentence due to a law designed to allow non violent criminals to earn early release.
More interesting is that, though I can’t find solid details and despite the fact that it is illegal for him to possess any kind of firearm, it sounds like he was able to use a firearm that is illegal for law abiding CA citizens to possess. Also bet he wasn’t subjected to the 10 day waiting period that law abiding CA residents are burdened with.
Gun laws don’t stop criminals from getting and using firearms. They just make it more likely their victims will be defenseless.
With this latest info, I’m beginning to wonder whether I sat in the jury box for this scum. His attorney didn’t like me so the judge thanked me and sent me home.
Most recent news about this incident is the Sacto Sheriff announcing that three of the deceased shootees were also known members of a local gang. Whodda thunk? When one gang member or drug dealer shot another gang member or drug dealer we used to call that misdemeanor murder. Getting rid of two for the price of one trial. Of course, that was in the days when people who shot other people illegally actually went to prison and served more than half their sentence.
