100 rounds through my second hellcat. She’s at 700 rounds now I need to break down clean and oil. 7 and 10 yd quickfire 3, pause relax and then three more.
Nice drill and open range
One of my favorite drills (two magazines of 5 rds):
- you walk towards the target located about 45 - 50 feet away
- on the command “threat” (or you can establish the line) you draw and shoot 5 rounds, still closing distance to the target
- once you are empty, you start retreating doing reload
- still retreating you shoot another 5 rounds
Do you turn your back while retreating?
Me… no. I never turn my back to anyone.
But in case someone likes this way, remember to turn the handgun 90 degrees while shooting back.
Ok… Just kidding.
You never ever lose visual contact with the threat.
I decided to try the USCCA level 01 qualification. (10 shots each, at 3,5,7,10,&15yds.)
NO timer. Need to get at least 35/50 within a 9in circle. I got 50/50!
Not a big deal for you veterans, but I was happy!
Looking good there, keep up the good work!
Today I went to the range to relieve some stress. I shot a good bit faster than I normally do, I guess partially due to my irritation. This is one of my targets that was around 15 somewhere with the new 320. I did feel better after the fastest 200 rounds I think I’ve ever shot, but I’ll admit I kind of let my attention stray from improving my performance.
Is not going to the range a good therapy for stress? I find it so good for self-relaxing therapy.
It really is! It was a slow afternoon, so I had the range to myself, too
Looks good. You either corrected your grip or closed the distance to the target.
Same distance range as usual I believe
Did the guy in the next lane leave his target behind?
j/k
Nice shootin.
no, the guy next to me couldn’t hit anything with his glock
