Pros Or Cons For The FN FNX .45 ACP

Now that we have several 200-grain SD loads for the .45, I’ve been shopping for this SA/DA pistol, especially the tactical version - with a good suppressor - for home defense. Considering its $900.00 - plus price, any advice or pros-and-cons would be welcome. KURT

I like my FNX.45 tactical! Even more since I put a can on it :wink:

I’m not a gun tuber, so my opinion is next to useless….

Pros;
1911 style controls and ergonomics

15+1 capacity

Factory threaded barrel and high sights to see over a can

Thumb safety also serves as decocker, push up for safe, push down from fire to decock.

SA/DA trigger, decock, holster, draw, and squeeze.

Cons;
Trigger leaves a lot to be desired vs a true 1911

Factory grip stippling is pretty aggressive without gloves

Double stack grip is pretty thick, not really a con if you’ve got bigger hands :man_shrugging:

Top heavy, when fully loaded with 15 rounds it’s balanced nicely…. When the mag is empty the polymer frame feels hollow and the recoil changes.
