So I’ve been watching this. I’m a long range guy and did “stuff” for the gov’t. There are stories coming out that there was a “2nd” shooter. Some PhD has an analysis that there was a 2nd shooter shooting at Trump based on sound recordings of the event.
So what do we “know”?
There were four CST’s, Two USSS and two “State/Local”
The CST that is all over the news couldn’t clearly see thee shooters location because of a tree.
The 2nd CST was on the next building down and were probably the ones that got Crooks given he was shot just above his right eye.
According to the sound there were 3 rounds fired seconds prior to Crooks taking his shots.
This would be consistent with the “State/Local” CST teams that the USSS said took a shot and missed. A$$UmeING an AR-10 platform suppressed this is viable.
Crooks let off 5 or 6 rounds seconds after that in rapid succession. The audio has an outlier which may or may not be a shot. The audio also has “echo’s” which given his position are consistent with his position a flat wall behind him and the location of the recording.
One round hit Trump
One round hit the fire chief
Two rounds hit the Marine (lungs and liver)
One round hit the 3rd man
Its possible two more rounds didn’t hit any thing if you surmise that the one that hit Trump also hit one of the two others.
10 seconds after the Crooks shots a single shot was made. This should be the USSS CST shot, probably when old boy “prairie dogged” to see what he had done. He was hit right above the right eye. Had he been on the gun it would have hit the scope or maybe gone just above it. Only the guy who took the shot will know.
There is some dude that is saying of the ten police officers from the “Pittsburgh” contingent who were on the road below the building where the shooter was (to his left facing the stage) were hit with “fragments”. This would also be consistent with the three missed shot from the “State/Local” CST and give us an indication as to where they were. Nobody was on the water tower.
IMHO the “State/Local” guys didn’t have a clear shot but took it anyway and spooked Crooks into shooting before he was ready. The “State/Local” guys also don’t have the USSS ROE. There rumor of a “stand down” which I don’t have a full grasp of at this moment.
Also IMHO this was an abject failure of security. You didn’t need a CST on that roof but a couple of dudes with carbines were warranted. Unmanned post? I had a headache and couldn’t come to work? Why was this the only CNN live streamed Trump rally in like a year? Why was the video of a USSS or DHI guy covering and crouching seconds before the shots directing other agents away from the podium? The 5’-6" chick actually stooped down to retrieve Trumps hat as they were moving him. leaving him WIDE OPEN to an open field before the stage. WTF! That said it did give us some iconic photo’s. IMHO those pictures should have never been allowed to happen. Trump should have been body “crushed” and never been allowed to stand up like a lolly pop and pump his fist and shout “fight” three times. The shortest chick in the protection unit was on the most open side, and she stopped to bend down and go for his hat. WTF? Also what’s with the dude waving his hand over Trump’s head? Dude your hand is not going to stop a bullet you need to dog pile the principle and get him below all your shoulders.
This was a total $hit show. There were pro’s and there were fill in’s.
Trump was saved by the hand of God and a comedy of mistakes.

There’s a video out there. I’ve see that also. Right before like 30 seconds or so a guy behind Trump and to Trump’s right, in a suit and tie w/sunglasses, comes from Trump’s right to left and moved the people behind Trump. Then he crouched behind the podium while the shots are fired.

I’m going to say something that has been bothering me. I’ve seen a lot of talk about this shooter. Especially regarding his lack of training except from Call of Duty. Has anyone stopped to think about all of the actually sophisticated tactics he used.
- He scoped out his LOS with a rangefinder.
- Conducted aerial surveillance with a drone.
- He managed to preposition a rifle in an area that was under Secret Service surveillance. How did he get that rifle to the roof?
- Moved around with impunity in an area that he should not have been in. Where was he at in between all of the times he was seen?
I know some of its allegedly from f*ckery with communication between the different agencies. But this is a supposedly untrained kid but some of those tactics are also sophisticated and straight out of the tactical playbook for snipers.
They can say he was untrained, but he did show some tactical sophistication and I think that is something that really needs to be looked into. Because honestly, I think someone trained him. Don’t be fooled he had Trump dead to right’s. Trump’s turn of his head and ducking is the only reason why. Trump is still alive.

I think it was the rifle on the roof that got me. I just don’t understand how it wasn’t seen. White roof, black rifle. I would think he would have put it there during the night but even if he could have done it, why wouldn’t it be seen during a sweep prior to the event starting?

Sniper killed would-be Trump assassin with ‘one-in-a-million shot’: source (msn.com)
The shot that killed the man who attempted to assassinate former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last Saturday was a “one-in-a-million shot,” according to a source familiar with the investigation into the shooting.
Fox News learned from the source the kill shot was a single shot taken by a Secret Service counter sniper whose view was obscured.
A local tactical team also took a shot at the would-be assassin, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, but missed.
The Secret Service sniper who killed Crooks could only see Crooks’ gun scope and the top of his eye and forehead because the lip of the roof was blocking the sniper’s view.
