I watched a body cam video, responding to a DV, the chief hit the top of the stairs and caught a 357 in the vest at point blank!
They all retreated, checked him out, but his vest stopped it.
He went back in and talked the man down AFTER GETTING SHOT IN THE CHEST!!!
Perp eventually surrendered otherwise peacefully to the man he had just shot,…. That was restraint to the highest degree.

Yes, that incident was disgusting, not only did they not go in, they prevented parents from trying rescue their children. This incident has been widely discussed in this forum;.

Unknown, but would not surprise me. Sufficient to say, he already made up his mind to end his life one way or another and left a trail of incomprehensible grief behind.
