Point shooting is the number one way to improve overall shooting!

I can point shoot while extended at the range and was fairly good at it but they wouldn’t let me shoot from the hip. I don’t know why I didn’t think to do it home. Thanks for waking me up!

Another option is lasers. There are a tone of great training tools to really enhance dry fire.

If you practice proper form enough during dry fire, you can close your eyes during your draw and when you open your eyes you will at least see part of your Front sight.
Bringing your pistol up under your dominant eye with a level extension towards the target, prepping the trigger during the extention, timing the trigger to " click" at extension.
I believe dry- fire will not only increase your Speed as you develop neural pathways (muscle memory) but the big thing to me is guaranteeing you don’t fumble the draw during a stressfull, possibly deadly, encounter.

Wow. That fellah was really good at that. What do you think about his “not” keeping his arm straight out, but bent at the elbow? If our second arm was compromised, like in his example, one handed practice pays off.

That is done by practice and training to do it. The question is, how long will it take for me to do it that way?

What ‘‘presents’’ does he give everyone?

Same here at my range. We can’t shoot from the hip. The pistol has to be on the table if not in your hand already. You can’t shoot from any holster any time or any where while on the range. We also have to wait a full second between each fired round.

That is the way my range is but 2 weeks ago the RO told me they would allow me to draw from an OWB holster but it couldn’t be full speed. They also said that I could fire as quick as I could hit the target. I’ve been shooting there for three years off and on and was calling a range here and there to find one that was a little more free on the rules and here they go and surprise me. Sometimes things do work out!

We have public ranges that people can use as long as they have either a hunting license or range permit. Both are like $20. They have ground rules but are for the most part self regulated.

That would be nice. Here, you would have to have a private range. My nephew has one but it is a 3 1/2 hour drive one way.
