Every gun owner should read Unintended Consequences. Thought it’s fiction it has a historical outline of government overreach in gun control over the history of this country.
I thought that the Law of Unintended Consequences was the supreme law of the land?
A good deal of the world we live in is colored by the unintended consequences of government regulation. The ATF, for example, is an agency born from Prohibition and the NFA. Today, it is the arbiter of what’s legal and what’s not in the world of firearms. Is that what Congress intended when it created the ATF?
The mess at the southern border is the unintended consequences of the failed war on drugs waged for more than half a century and consuming more than $1 trillion. Just as Prohibition demonstrated, when government bans a product for the good of society, society will continue consuming that banned product and organized crime will fulfill society’s demand on the black market. Cartels have arisen and are enriched by the war on drugs to the extent that they destroyed governments south of the border and people are naturally fleeing the violence of drug cartels.
Wanna fix the mess at the border, recognize its causes and fix the war on drugs.
