Orwellian society?

Oh and for the record, I have been screaming 1984 for months now.

1984 was not a novel, it is a manual and their procedural guide.

I just got done rereading it and the parallels between the book and our world are incredible. It’s like they’re using it as an instruction manual

Hardly what I feel like, but it is a good time to invade Canada and claim it as our own. :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree. I feel we are standing on the edge of a monumental shift in American society. Family members have asked what I think about life going forward… Hard to say really. On one hand, I hope that things can return to normal soon. On the other, the shutdown has done serious damage to so many Americans. Folks are reeling financially & emotionally. I don’t think things will ever be the same again. These politicians & corporations are enforcing their agenda in spite of The Constitution. The trampling of personal FREEDOM is so common to us nowadays. But, the perpetuation of evil will never make it normal or acceptable. I JUST WANNA BE LEFT ALONE!

I don’t know that America will ever succumb to an Orwellian society. That being said we are minute by minute transferring “observation” of our lives over to big tech and big data which are wholly unregulated as to what they do with the information. Look at Google Maps, it offers to tell you what restaurants, gas stations, WaWa’s and other things based on your travel patterns. It won’t be too far in the future where your phone on or off will be tracking your movements if someone was so inclined to look. China is already doing this. He!! if you down load an app for a grocery store it will ping you as you walk down an isle for sales located on that isle or that you have bought previously. If it wasn’t for work I wouldn’t have a phone. All that being said the American public has been cooped up for 2 months and in the blue states it looks like a month or two more. They have had their fill as evidenced by protests across the country. The problem with cooping up people for the government is that they get curious about “What ARE my rights?” Then they get itchy to go and “break the rules” because it’s not that bad here.

I will maintain and contend that if Hillary was president this Wuhan Flu would barley be on the radar anymore that the Bird Flu or the Swine Flu were. This pandelerium is brought to you by the MSM that is 95% against anything Trump does and are all in an covering for the Democratic candidate of the week. I will point you to Tara Reed in contrast with Trump or Kavinaugh.

I don’t think the country is slipping to Orwell but the news media will paint a rosy picture until they all have to wear grey. The rest of America will carry on and if necessary kick a$$ and take names. If you think AOC was a surprise wait till November when it’s ANYBODY BUT Pelosi, Shumer, AOC, Mad Maxine and the rest.

Cheers,

I agree with everything you said. The way the Dems have skewed their agenda from “believe all women” to “well I didn’t mean just believe them I meant believe the facts.” They are doing a 180 when it suits them and I don’t know if it’s just insane stupidity or mad genius how this is all playing out.

Too many of our political leaders have been in power for years, the longer there, the more corrupt they become. Too many people want government to provide for them. Therefore they follow without question. I question everything, and concerned about the direction the country is heading.

@BubbaBear917 you can go to this link and sign up for mailings. And also if you want to sign their petition you can ask for e-mails also. You can even sign up to become a volunteer then you’ll get all types of mailings on what is going on around the country. I do what is called FOLLOWUPS. And what that is is when someone signs the petition there is a thank you e-mail sent to them thanking them for signing the petition, maybe a text message if the person doesn’t want e-mails. And if there is a District Captain they might also make a phone call to talk to the person. And I do the followups for Districts that don’t have a District Captain for the whole state of Arizona. And there are a lot of positions that need to be filled. And you can pick what suits you the best. and you only have to work around 3-5 hours a week depending on what to decide to do. Here is the link in case you don’t still have it. http://conventionofstates.com/?ref=41474

This is another reason as well. And here is a map to prove my point. Look at the areas in BLUE. That is where most of this country’s population is. And they would have the ONLY SAY IN ELECTION OF PRESIDENTS IF THERE WAS ELECTORAL COLLEGE. And OUR FOUNDING FATHER KNEW IT.

Agreed, they just want to get rid of the electoral college for the popular vote. They get the popular vote they ruin the entire country. New York City shouldn’t be able to tell people in the boonies how to live their lives.
