OK I got a spare vortex defender ccw laying around and an AR15 pistol with no optics.
Thought about duct taping the vortex on but figured that that probably would hinder its use.
Any decent any decent rmsc to picitinny mount that hopefully will come witness?

Yeah, no amazon. I planned on $100 or so for the mount, cheaper in price is better, just want quality. I wouldn’t be against putting the defender back on the RXM and putting the venom enclosed on the AR and hope i can get it to adjust.

so $40 for “world-class” mount isn’t a bad price
Unless the height won’t work for you…

Had the 510c on it direct mount and it was to low and bulky for what I like. Put the 510c on my shotgun and it feels better.
David showed a good mount but I think it might be too low for me, especially with a compact sight.
My wife seems to piss away $40 just waking up and ill give anything a try.
If i dont like it, im only out 40

Guess we will see how long this company takes. Bought the mount but dam, companies seem to take their sweet ass time on shipping things out.

If its too high I’ll try the the one David mentioned and use the venom enclosed and see how it feels.
Sometimes i wish I was just like a simple suburban gun owner with 1 gun and 1 box of ammo. Much cheaper.
But no…just like many on here, its not that easy

I got one from Swampfox I really like.

Got the mount today. Feels like a good height. Thank goodness vortex throws in a bunch of different size screws. Go figure, last one I tried was it. 6-40

Did you buy Warner & Swasey Red Dot RMSc Mount?
Yup. Was actually delivered a tad early.

I don’t recall screw size, but dot should be mounted with 25 lb of torque
Rail screws - 35 lb
Just to clarify for some others, its torqued in inch/lbs not foot lbs. Sounds stupid but…

using one for the other leaves you open to stripped screws etc… or easily coming lose…
so ya it matters big time!
I’d definitely skip the duct tape. A solid RMS-to-Picatinny mount should give you a much better setup and proper alignment.
