Curious who’s first to SCOTUS, 3rd or 7th circuit?

This kind of news makes me wonder if the NRA had abandoned California.

The “roster of handguns available for sale” has been in place since 2001.

The NRA abandoned CA at least 10yrs ago, if not more. I think they got fed up with the 9th Circuit. But when we’ve gotten a small victory here or there, through the efforts of FPC & CRPA/CalGuns, the NRA has been quick to send an email with sketchy language, trying to imply they had something to do with it, and asking for donations. Not falling for it.

The 9th Circuit has really been dragging out the handgun roster case. Oral arguments were something like two years ago. Then they pushed the pause button in May 2024 to wait for the en banc ruling on magazine capacity. They reactivated the case in May of this year and we STILL don’t have a ruling. It’s not going to go in our favor though. They’re just dragging it out as long as possible.

Some of the stuff written in the petitions for SCOTUS to review Duncan (magazine capacity) have been pretty good though. One referenced how out of control the 9th Circuit has been and asked, “How much longer will this court allow the 9th Circuit to keep flipping you the judicial middle finger?” That’s good stuff. Who says legal documents have to be boring?
