Not only are they among us - They are ALLOWED to stay among us

" Andrews has a lengthy criminal history and, at the time of the shooting, was on parole and wanted by Adult Probation and Parole. He made headlines in 2018 for backing a pickup truck into his ex-girlfriend’s car and her new boyfriend. He was convicted in that case of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury."

Yep, they had him, for doing crazy violent stuff, but low and behold, they let him out. THEN they just couldn’t seem to find the time to hunt him down after he busted they guys head with a chain and lock. @Mike164 Reaches down and pats Kimberly on the handle. Be aware, you never know when you might run into this guy…

To this Observer it seems to me that a lot of us Gunner’s here are ‘Home Bodies’
Family oriented, Hard workers with some retired, some Military, Educated and Honest folk’s.
I do not know many of your Socializing habits so I will just speak for myself here.
I have pulled back from Socializing, I’ve said this before here, I’m NOT DONE Lifewise.
But my days of carousing and Adventure are prolly over.
I love my fortress…I mean house, made it comfortable/secure and, purchased Cars that make me smile the minute I open their doors. But the outside world has become too freaky for me.
My TRUST level has fallen in Humanity and that is a shame. I was a ‘Give the shirt off my back’
kind of person but these days I largely keep to myself. My Socializing is here now.
I am FREE to post or scroll down from Topics and comments that agree/disagree with and that
suits me to a ‘T’ right now.
I have a Huge Craft show this weekend and I LOVE the Exchange between buyer and seller a great deal because I get to meet folk’s who generally don’t wish anything but a nice experience for both of us. Not many Terrorists attend Craft shows (mostly retired folk’s looking for a gift or Tea Cozy for their new Tea Pot! (I can live with that after the life I had).
THE PROBLEM IS THE OUTSIDE WORLD INTRUDES IN MY ‘PEACEFUL WARRIOR’ LIFE EVERYTIME I STEP OUTSIDE. There are entirely too many Bad Element walking the streets these days as Mike’s article shows us. Fortunately for me I do NOT live ‘in the city’. You have to make an effort to get to my neighborhood, and while a lot of my neighbors appear to be asleep/Sheep/Democrats they kind of look out for each other. I didn’t work for(40+) years to be afraid to go outside or get gas. Plus I am ARMED 24/7 and it’s a real comfort that my Sister is also (Trained up and smart).

IF trouble comes, it will have to come to us and frankly I pity the fool who does.

My wife and I are the same way these days. I used to love being out. In past jobs I traveled a lot in Europe and Asia, as well as the US. I liked the interest and excitement of a big city. No more. At so many levels, we just prefer home and family. I had to go to a big city (Tampa) for work last week. I don’t even like driving in the city anymore. I have to remember to keep my truck doors locked (it pre-dates auto lock), there are threats on most corners while you’re stopped at traffic lights (scurvy looking homeless, etc) in certain areas of town, drivers are a$$holes and will cut you off if you pause for a second to figure out where you are, and the congestion is just too much for me. We like our little quiet peaceful end of the road here out in what was the country, and we find nature parks to go out to, but mostly we’re total home bodies. Our home is a fortress too, and I like it that way. Every now and then we take stock of vulnerabilities and add another level of early warning or security, but overall we feel safe at home. A home invader would make a bad choice trying this house.

I have always been a mostly introverted person through all my life. Never had more than a very small handful of friends that I hung out with at any given time and have always needed my alone time to recharge my batteries. But given the growing economic, political and global instability we are facing I have actually been putting more time into socializing and building community connections these days.

No one is going to be able to stand up to the challenges ahead on their own. I have already done what I can afford to do to be ready for challenging times. The only thing left that I can do is try to build more connections so that my family and I don’t have to face future challenges on our own.

Plus for all the growing turmoil in our world the vast majority of people and places, at least here in the U.S., are still significantly safer to deal with today than at many other points in history. That may change at any moment. But until it does I am going to enjoy every moment that I can for as long as I can.
