I have the chance to buy a newer Ruger Bearcat with a very nice leather holster and several hundred rounds of .22LR for $165. The piece literally looks brand new, the holster is still stiff, bright, smells new, and any ammunition that comes with anything is a score in my book. It’s finished in what I call a “mottled” blue. Now, I really couldn’t care less about a single action, 6-shot, .22 revolver but the deal at least sounds good. Researched pricing seems to be all over the place but $165 seems like a pretty good deal. I’m not worried about any sordid history that would accompany the piece as I have known the individual all of my life. This guy is basically a hermit, He bought it new and probably hasn’t fired it more than a box worth of rounds. It will probably just occupy space in the safe but still…$165??? Thoughts are appreciated and thank you in advance for your kind replies.

Thank you all for the kind replies. The man loves everything old western and he put some faux ivory grips on it. To me, it makes it look like a pimp pistol. He has the original wood grips so they will promptly go back on it. I’ve just never been a fan of the ivory grips. Some like it so right on - just not for me. I’ll post a pic when I get it to the house. Prolly be next Tuesday or Wednesday when the Eagle flies.
Update: Please see the item below in “as-received” condition. It’s very dry, needs a good cleaning, lube, and the grips changed back, This seems to me like it would be a good piece for a young person who has an interest but no experience to begin their learning journey or an easier to use alternative for an older person who can’t handle the recoil of a larger piece anymore. IDK - done deal now. The Klein bag was literally half full to the top with rounds - at least 500 or so CPHP and 15 or so rat shot rounds so bonus right there. If nothing else, I can holster-up and walk around the farm like Wyatt Twerp. LOL!
