Westchester County is looking to raise the cost of the license to a mind-boggling $175, which could be more than the price of the firearm. The proposed fee to amend a restriction on a license will increase from $3 to $125. Any other amendments will go up from $3 to $25. These increases have gun owners in the county up in arms.”

NY is going to run into problems. Vt non-resident hunting license cost: $102.00. NH non-Resident Hunting license cost:$113.00, Pennsylvania Non-Resident Hunting license cost: $101.97. Connecticut Non-Resident hunting license: $91.00. Massachusetts Non-Resident hunting license cost:$101.50. It won’t be long before the deer overbreed for lack of predation or herd management. In NY, it might be cheaper to hit the deer with your car. But that’s probably the point NY is trying for.

Yes. In New York not only do you need a license to own and carry firearms but you also need to “amend” your license every time you buy a new firearm it actually get “approved” (for a fee), logged AND a new license printed listing all your guns and you’re supposed to carry everywhere you go. My old license was a oh STACK of hard plastic cards. I often had 3-5 amendments going at a time. The county ladies that did this used to laugh every time I came in for a new “amendment”.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the ideas behind where that tax money is supposed to go,….
But when we legalized recreational cannabis, we agreed to a hell of a tax on it that was SUPPOSED to go to our public education,….
In the first year, they collected just south of a billion,… BILLION! Dollars, of tax revenue, in the FIRST YEAR!!!
yet our schools continue to fall behind and close for “lack of funding”

If hitting your deer with a car is a desired replacement to hunting season, there is no reason to begin worrying at this time. The preferred “vehicles of choice” are EVs since they are 30% heavier than internal combustion powered vehicles and are relatively silent enabling stalking. However, they are, at this time, relatively few in number overall so it will take a while before they go mainstream. One handicap presented by EVs is the difficulty of bringing them into your tree stand.
