 What is 300BLK good for?

.300 Blackout is exceptionally well-suited for home defense, short-range hunting, and suppressed shooting. Designed to perform optimally in very short barrels (7 to 9 inches), it offers devastating close-quarters stopping power while remaining incredibly compact and easy to maneuver in tight indoor spaces.

However, its primary drawbacks are the cost and availability of ammunition compared to the common 5.56 NATO round.

It was originally designed as a military cartridge meant to compare to the 7.62x39 ballistically.

The 5.56 is fast, flat shooting, and lightweight, however its ability to defeat armor is severely lacking especially at longer ranges.

7.62x39 and .300blk both have higher ballistic arcs (aim higher at longer range) However they both hit a ton harder than the 5.56 and will penetrate heavier armor or barricades.

Also, a lot easier to load out to subsonic than a 3kFPS 5.56!
