Neighbor harassment culminates in shooting

I dont mean to invalidate any points from the article, but the problem is not local to Minneapolis. In FL courts do not like to get into disputes between neighbors, and cops wont act either until a crime takes place.

I wish communities around this country werent so atomized. The community is what helps to reign in a bully, helps other things, too.

As a side thought - if you are not willing to standup for yourself, why expect the neighbor would, or cops. Maybe useless philosophy.

Then it happened. Attempted homicide/murder.

Moturi should sue the city which failed to protect him.

So you support expanding red flag laws?

No, this is not about firearms, before that he used knife and shovel to attack.

You do know courts had ruled time and time again police dont owe protection to citizens.

Sorry, I was addressing Bean up there, because of the point you just made!

Not sure how red flag laws apply to that particular series of incidents.

I think I read something to that effect.
That’s why I think if Moturi has a good lawyer, he should go after the city.

Moturi said he has reached out to the police chief, mayor, city council members and even the Department of Human Rights, but nothing has happened.

Well, I went ahead and actually read the article.

This neighbor was a serious problem.

But what was the city supposed to do?

Invoke a red flag law and go in and search his house to make sure he didn’t have any guns to commit this attack?

It sucks this guy caught a bullet over something so stupid, hopefully the neighbor will get put away long enough to get the mental health care he apparently needs.

I’m surprised the police did nothing earlier. These was no crime committed!!!

I would think dropping Duce in someone mail slot is a crime

Maybe he should have called the Postal Inspector!
