Hi folks. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I’m wondering if there are any support groups for life altering injuries sustained from a self inflicted negligent discharge. Any resources would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I can imagine there can be physical life altering, but also the legal, and psychological effects. I admire you and your friend for working on the healing.

Some mistakes we make are less legally sensitive or posed less risk to others but more mainly to ourselves.

Things we have done, learned from them, and because of that we may never make the same mistake again, and or go on to teach others who because of us, they will live, and they will change the world in a positive way.

Or so I hope. Yesterday, I was out enjoying the countryside, I had a bicycle accident, got side tracked, lost track of time, and got injured, which I blamed myself for. I debated whether or not to cancel my kayak trip, but still went on. To my detriment, the water level dropped, and the edges of the creek were completely covered in thorny bushes and poison-ivy.

I ended up walking in the sharp rocky creek, pulling my kayak. It became pitch black out. Luckily I saw some lights and hiked towards them; it was a private camp ground which led me to a road, then back to my car. Got home safe and sound.

In my head, I’m still shaking from it all.

Please feel more than free for you or your friend to send me a private message. I’d be honored.

> For the sake of this posting, my friend Bob is recovering from the trauma of a negligent discharge at home. Despite there being no physical injuries, the incident continues to grind away at Bob as he works to put this behind him and his family. This post is about how best to help. The incident was at 4AM the morning before a planned trip to the range. His routine was to inspect the pistols, load magazines, and pack the range bag before the family awoke as he is an early riser. The 10MM 1911 had…
