I was a policeman in the revolver Stone Age. During firearms training, I asked “What kind of ammo should I carrry?” expecting this to solicit a discussion of the relative merits of 38 special or 357 magnum.

The training officer immediately responded “Most policemen who are shot are shot with their own guns. Don’t carry anything that you would mind being shot with.” As years passed, that turned out to be true as most of my friends who were shot, were shot with their own guns, often in an incidence of firearms negligence.

So the dog was toothless, old, and probably Chihuahua sized. Okay, small target; shooting partner in the calf may confirm this…but really, these are our “finest”? Betting SWAT gets called if it’s Lab sized 🙄
