Love Me Tender by Elvis Presley. Elvis was the reason that I took guitar lessons in the early 60’s. Also Sunshine on my Shoulder and Poems and Prayers and Promises written by John Denver, but sung by Cliff DeYoung in the movie “Sunshine” with Christina Raines from the early 70’s. Very touching movie, and one of my favorites.

@Eugene49 Love those John Denver songs. I love his music.

A short song but a good one!

R dedicated this song to me at an event we attended. Made me cry in front of 10,000 people.

@Mike164 I can imagine. It’s another great love song that goes beyond romantic love to an even greater Love!

Yes, I did.
It was in 2018 and first time I heard the song since 2005 (I think).

I seriously believe Alexa and Siri were listening. I hear it almost every other day now.
Last week, I ordered copy of the song for framing.

Hard to top that song.
I always associate it with my dear departed dad.

BPM may not qualify this as a slow song.

Heard it last Saturday while on a mini-road trip with my wife.
Brought back memories when music wasn’t on-demand.

Not sure why I felt a bit sad while it was playing.

For no apparent reason, I woke up singing Dan Fogelberg’s Longer and remembered how he made me look up words in the dictionary. We had an unabridged Merriam-Webster.

Today’s kids don’t know what they’re missing and what we have lost :disappointed:

@BeanCounter This one gets to me…

Here is a poem
That my lady sent down
Some morning while
I was away.
Wrote on the back of
A leaf that she found
Somewhere around Monterey.

And here is the key
To a house far away
Where I used to live
As a child.
They tore down the building
When I moved away
And left the key unreconciled.

And down in the canyon
The smoke starts to rise.
It rides on the wind
Till it reaches your eyes.
When faced with the past
The strongest man cries…cries.

And down in the canyon
The smoke starts to rise.
It rides on the wind
Till it reaches your eyes.
When faced with the past
The strongest man cries…cries.

And here is a sunrise
To set on your sill.
The ghosts of the dawn
Moving near.
They pass through your sorrow
And leave you quite still…
Sitting among souvenirs.

@BeanCounter We have to let the people in our lives know about this music and the poetry of the lyrics. Thats how we keep it going.
