Neil Diamond wrote the music to the movie based on Richard Bach’s Jonathon Livingston Seagull. Movie wasn’t a big hit but the music is great and the book is even better. I met Richard Bach. He said if you are ever pitching pennies in an elevator with Neil Diamond, Neil will win.
More trivia: Richard couldn’t get the book published anywhere because the manuscript was so short. So he called up his friend Russell Munson and said, “Het Russ, can you take me to lunch?” Richard was broke and almost penniless at the time. He told Russ about the book and Russ unbeknownst to Richard, had been photographing seagulls. He had hundreds of photographs. Some of those went in the book and the rest is history.
@BeanCounter He’s still kicking. He has a FB page.
@Blacky Haven’t heard that song in awhile. He’s still kicking too and he has a FB page also.
Oh now I remember, it was unique because his name’s ALL CAPS
still active and has taken care of his voice well.
Oh No!
I have that song on my playlist. Love(d) his voice.
@Sinbad You might like this one.
Yo, this music will forever be imprinted in my brain, Mogua’s last stand and why I own a Gunstock war club.
Neil made some seriously great music.
