Wow. Looking back through a bunch of the ones I had missed, (mostly looking to see if anyone had posted Dust in the Wind) and ran across the Honor Flight posts. I wasn’t in Viet Nam, but I was in the Air Force from '67-'71. I don’t know how many “old” guys are on here that served during that time period, but if you haven’t taken the flight, you should. It’s a great opportunity and, even though I’d visited the area before, I saw some things I probably never would have visited on my own. The closest I got to Nam was the Philippines, and that was close enough to see the busses bringing the wounded to the base hospital. There were a lot of them.

@MrBagworm Thank you for your service and for sharing.
Here’s my addition for the week… you can’t help but love this one… and every other tune the James Gang did “back in the day” especially since the guitarist was Joe Walsh. Oh yeah…

Thanks @Blacky I love Kris Kristofferson and miss him!
This is a duet Streisand and he did in the movie A Star is Born. They were dear friends. She also wrote the song.
Country star Kris Kristofferson achieved the rank of Captain in the Army as a helicopter pilot and Ranger. He received his training at Fort Rucker, Alabama before being deployed to West Germany as part of the 8th Infantry Division. After serving out his tour of duty, Kristofferson was scheduled to become an English Literature professor at West Point, but decided to pursue a career in songwriting instead.
Man of many talents.
